The rest of the year, the Evergreen Lake House is a place you drive to. You take Upper Bear Creek Road, you park in the lot at 29612, you walk the loop. In July, for three specific Wednesdays and one long weekend, that logic breaks. The lot closes to residents, VIP passes are already sold out for the season, and the real map of the lake becomes a shuttle route that runs from a church parking lot on Evergreen Parkway to a ballfield at Stagecoach.
If you already live here, this is the month where knowing the schedule matters more than knowing the trailheads. Here is how the July 2026 rhythm actually works, and where the friction hides.
The Wednesday Inversion
The EPRD Summer Concert Series is the anchor. It runs every other Wednesday from June 10 through August 19, 4:30 to 8 PM, alternating between Evergreen Lake House and Buchanan Park Field. In July that gives residents two concert Wednesdays plus the ripple week around the jazz festival.
The two venues behave differently, and confusing them is the number-one way locals end up with a cooler full of drinks they cannot bring inside. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed at both sites, but outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed at Evergreen Lake. Buchanan is BYO. Lake House is bar-only, and the bar tips get donated to the Active4All Evergreen Foundation.
If you are used to parking near the lake, this is the harder change. There will be no parking available at the Lake House during Summer Concerts. Only VIP Parking Pass Holders and Shuttles will be permitted. And the VIP option is closed for the year. Passes were $120 per vehicle and are sold out for the 2026 season.
So the shuttle is not a suggestion. It is the plan.

Free shuttles run from Stagecoach Park at 3229 El Pinal Drive and Christ the King Church at 4291 Evergreen Parkway, 4 to 8:30 PM. No pets on shuttles. No alcohol on shuttles. Skip Lakepoint Center and the Denver Golf Course as parking hacks; both are off-limits.
For the Buchanan nights, the parking geometry shifts. The recreation center closes at 3 PM on concert days to prepare for event parking. There is limited parking at Buchanan Park Rec Center's lower lots. VIP Parking Pass holders, Handicap parking, and Shuttles are permitted in the upper parking spaces. The Wulf Recreation Center lot at 5300 S. Olive Road adds a second shuttle origin, and those shuttles also stop in downtown Evergreen.
The practical read: if you live downtown or on the north side of Bear Creek, the downtown shuttle stop is the shortest path to a Wednesday night without a parking hunt.
What A Lake House Wednesday Actually Looks Like
Arrive around 4:30 for seating, headliners at 6:30. The Lake House sits at 29612 Upper Bear Creek Road with a view of the lake, mountains, and ponderosa pine. You can pack a picnic or buy food and non-alcoholic drinks from the food trucks, or visit the concert bar for beer, wine, seltzers, and summer cocktails, with all bar tips donated to the Active4All Evergreen Foundation. Settle in and enjoy the music on a warm night as the sun sets over the mountains behind you.
New this year at the Lake House nights: reusable and recyclable aluminum cups. Hold onto them all season for a discount on your refills. The waste-diversion setup runs through what EPRD calls ECO Hubs. In partnership with the Crush It Crusade and Evergreen Sustainability Alliance, staffed waste stations provide designated areas for compost, recycling, and landfill sorting, with a goal to divert at least 50% of concert waste from the landfill.
The July 22 Lake House bill leans country. Jeff Goodwin and the Front Range Cowboys play Evergreen Lake House on Wednesday, July 22. Goodwin's a Golden native who's played the Grizzly Rose in Denver, the Buffalo Rose in Golden, and the Whiskey Rose in Colorado Springs, and he took the 2025 Male Vocalist of the Year Award from the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame. The other rotating July acts pull from the local bench: Evergreen's own Midday Sons with their Americana and alt-country blend, and singer-songwriter Sydney Sava, who won Mountains Got Talent 2026 and whose song "Evergreen" is a hometown love letter.
Jazz Weekend Is A Different Animal
The last weekend of July is the one that changes the town's center of gravity. The Evergreen Jazz Festival runs across four venues — the Evergreen Elks Ballroom and Patio, Evergreen Christian Church, and the Evergreen Lake House — with the schedule posted in April 2026 at evergreenjazz.org. The Saturday sessions run 10 AM to 10 PM at the Elks Lodge Ballroom and Patio, Evergreen Christian Church, and Ovation West's Center Stage Theater, with full-day, morning, and afternoon tickets.
This July marks the twenty-first rendition of the festival, and it's built for a 30-minutes-southwest-of-Denver mountain setting rather than a big-crowd stage. Tickets are available for the full weekend, single days, and Dance Nights, and your 3-Day or 1-Day ticket lets you move freely from venue to venue. Ticket pickup opens at the Evergreen Elks Lodge at 11 AM on Friday, July 25. Early-bird pricing runs through June 30, 2026.
The nesting matters: the Wednesday concert on July 22 sits three days before the jazz festival opens on Friday the 24th. If you live near Upper Bear Creek Road, you are looking at four straight days of event traffic before the calendar exhales.
The Week Before: Summerfest And The Fourth
Two more July anchors deserve a spot on the fridge.
Foothills Fourth is the Independence Day event on the EPRD calendar, sitting on Saturday, July 4 at the lake. It reliably fills the parking lot before mid-morning; the shuttle logic that applies to concert Wednesdays is worth borrowing here as well.
Summerfest is the mid-month one. Held July 18 and 19, 2026, Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday 10 to 5 at Buchanan Field, 32003 Ellingwood Trail, with $5 admission at the door and kids 10 and under free, hosted by the Center for the Arts Evergreen, with proceeds supporting arts programming year-round. The festival draws approximately 6,000 visitors and is celebrating its 46th year. Avoid entering Buchanan from I-74/Ellingwood Trail because EPRD/Rec Center parking is handicap only, and use the free shuttle from Evergreen Middle School or US Bank, or walk from the RTD Park-and-Ride or Castle Court lots.
Add Summerfest to a July 22 Lake House Wednesday, and you have your week already spoken for.
The Quieter July Rhythms Around The Big Nights
Not every July night is a concert. The in-between days have their own pattern.
- Growing Out West is the new Thursday farmers market at Cactus Jacks, 9 AM to 2 PM, with fresh produce, soap vendors, and more.
- EPRD Movie Nights run through the summer as a free family event at Buchanan Park.
- A Summer Concert Series stop lands at Dedisse Park at Evergreen Lake on July 22, and Buchanan Park hosts a concert on July 8.
- On July 9, the Evergreen Creative District's Mountain Jazz Month brings the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra to the Lake House.
- Bistro Del Lago handles food at that Mountain Jazz night, with crafts from Crafty Chassi's alongside.
If you have out-of-town family visiting mid-month, the Wednesday-Thursday pairing of the Lake House concert plus the Cactus Jacks market is the version of Evergreen you actually want to show them. Both are free, both are walkable once you solve the parking-and-shuttle problem, and neither requires the tickets to sell out at 9 AM on May 1.
